Some first pictures

So here we are. You may notice that two of us are still in our pajamas! This picture is actually a couple of months old, but I think it's the most recent one that we have of us all together. (Note to self: take more family pictures!)

For those of you who missed Alina's first birthday party, she offers you a piece of her birthday cake anyway!

Here is Alina all bundled up and ready to go outside. This is her favorite hat. She routinely carries it around the house, taking it on and off at random times. You can't see this very well, but it has pompoms, which she enjoys pulling apart. I find random bits of pink and brown yarn all over my house!

Why the title?

We finally did it. We finally have our blog. For those of you who will hopefully be reading this, you may be wondering, "Why In His Adventures?" This is a phrase Dawn coined a few years ago and which has been much used by a good friend (Hi, Bill!). It's because we believe that life is an adventure. That's easy to forget in the humdrum of everyday living. In adventure stories, you get to skip over the hours and days of marching through the forest and pretty much go straight to the part where they find the treasure or get attacked or have fun storming the castle ("Bye, kids!"). But, in real-life adventures, there are lots of times that aren't very exciting. That doesn't make it any less an adventure. The other thing is that, in this life, we don't always get to choose the adventure we live. Which is why it's good to be able to believe that there is Someone who has planned the adventure all the way through to the happy ending.

So, wherever you are at in YOUR adventure, welcome to our blog!
