Yesterday, Thomas finally got back the results for his Greek class, and he passed with flying colors! For those of you who might not know, Thomas has been taking theology classes through the King's Divinity School (formerly known as Midlands Bible College), which is accredited through the University of Wales. This Greek class was the final class in the first year of the program, which gets him a Certificate in Higher Education in Biblical Hermeneutics in the British system. He's planning on continuing on at least with the second year, and now he has a green light for that! I know that he has enjoyed the courses a lot so far, and has learned a lot. Also, France is very diploma-conscious, even in Christian circles. Him having a theological diploma will add a certain amount of credibility to our church and his ministry.
Yay, Thomas!

BB 2: Ultrasound 3
Today, we got our last glimpse of Baby #2 until it actually makes its way into the world. The great news? Everything's fine. The head is down (at this stage, there's barely any chance that will change) and the placenta is out of the way. No forseeable complications when Baby 2 makes its big debut.
Alina was born 4 days before her due date. Guess what falls 4 days before Baby 2's due date? (Hint: We've warned everyone who might need to know to be prepared to take over for Thomas on Easter Sunday.)
Meanwhile, Mom has a sudden desire to eat only dessert. Good thing Alina enjoys helping me to bake cakes. Anybody got a good donut recipe?

The Great Tortilla Experiment
Tonight, I made home-made tortillas for the first time. Why, you might ask? Well, thank you for asking. The thing is, buying tortillas here is a bit complicated. Usually my local grocery store has them, but sometimes they don't. And, it seems that when they don't is when I was counting on them the most. They also seem like they're pretty expensive compared to what I vaguely remember paying for them during my UNC years. But, most of all, I've started reading labels more and more. You'd be astounded at how many unpronounceable chemical-sounding ingredients they can put in a stack of tortillas. Especially since, when you make them, the recipe is: flour, salt, oil, water. That's it.
They turned out OK. A bit thicker than the store-bought variety, but very definitely edible, and very definitely tortillas. The hardest part was peeling them off of my kitchen table once I had gotten them rolled out. The result bore only a remote resemblance to the perfectly-round tortillas that come in a bag. These were definitely more...amoeba-shaped. Some even came complete with holes.
I'm torn as to whether it was worth the time and effort. I figure I should try it at least once more because, hey, surely I'll just get better at it the more I do it, right? In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, be sure to let me know!
