For those of you with children who are reading this, I have bad news for you. Alina is the cutest baby ever. Far cuter than your child, however cute you might think he or she is. She is so cute, in fact, that her cuteness can not be captured either by photo, video, or words. Despite my best efforts, this blog will never accurately describe how cute my daughter is. However, let me tell you about yesterday:
First of all, she helped me with the dishes twice. She pulls her little stool in front of the sink, climbs on, sticks her hands in the water, and plays with whatever dishes are in reach (which is why all the knives now live in the BACK of the sink!). After dinner, I was drinking coffee on the couch with her, and put my empty cup on the coffeetable. She picked it up, took my hand, led me into the kitchen, and put the dirty cup into the sink where it belonged!
She also got her little broom and helped me sweep the floor. She's great at finding the dirt I've swept up and using her broom and feet to spread it all around the floor again!
She's a great cook, too. I was making a cake. She helped me stir it and put her hands in the flour. Realizing I had added milk, she indicated that she would like some milk, then wanted to dump what I gave her into the bowl, too.
So cute!
Also, for 4 days, she had had a total of 3 daytime wet diapers! One a day, plus a day with none!

Hooray for Alina honing her skills! I think that you should include pictures of this cutie cleaning!
so what do you think are your chances of staying so helpful up into her teen years? i love that chores are fun now when they really can't do it alone. when they have the ability to really be of help, they won't want to anymore. what is with that?
Actually I think it's precisel because they can't really help that it's fun. Once they're old enough to understand that there's a PURPOSE to putting your hands in all that sudsy water, then it ceases to be fun and they cease to enjoy it.
Or, maybe we'll get lucky and we'll have a 14-year-old who adores doing the dishes...Nah...
