Suddenly it seems like Alina is repeating everything we say. Every day, she says new words, often even saying 1 or 2 before she actually gets out of her bed in the morning. Here are some of her new words from the last couple of days:
book, page, kind, puppy, bunny, toad, fun, flag, ready, today, fish, fishing pole, happy, fluffy, silly, bird, wait, song, for, Anselmian view of the atonement (just kidding on that last one, that's Thomas's humor for you...)
She's also starting saying more complicated sentences. She's started to make the difference between me and you, and uses words like my and mine more as well as for ("For Maman" or "For Papa"). She asks lots more questions. "Vat dat?" "Vat do Maman?" for example. It's so funny the way she's picked up on expressions from the cartoons she watches, like "Wow!" and "Youpie!" from Franklin.
She's expressing her own opinions more exactly as well, and her new descriptions of choice are "beau" or "pas beau" (pretty or not pretty) and the words "fun" and "happy" allow for some more expression ("Fun do dat Nina").
I had wondered how long it would take before she would start saying the baby's name. I had never dreamed it would happen before the baby was even born! (Once the baby's here and we actually go public with her name, I'll have a funny anecdote to tell you. How's that for whetting your appetite?)
Anyway, it's fun.
