Sarlat-le-Caneda

On our vacation, we were staying right outside of Sarlat. I had no idea, but the region, and Sarlat in particular are among the most-visited regions in France. With good reason. Sarlat is a beautiful little town. Here is what they call a lanterne des morts, a lantern of the dead. Not quite sure what it was supposed to actually be used for, but here's a picture: Here are Tassia and I in the restaurant where we ate lunch once (foie gras followed by duck in cream sauce and potatoes à la sarladaise (fried with parsley and garlic. Yum!)
This used to be a church, but now it houses the daily market:

One of the big foie gras companies donated this statue to the city. An extremely popular spot for tourists to take pictures of their small children, as we observed.
